ELIZABETH DOW LTD. INTERNSHIPS
The Elizabeth Dow Ltd. internship program was established in 1992 to provide an opportunity for students and recent graduates to gain experience in the art and design fields. Initially, the company’s unique profile served as a chance for fine arts and design students to hone their skills as well as apply their craft in a working
environment. The program has since grown to offer various positions in the Marketing and Managerial fields—ideal for students seeking business experience.


We are looking for individuals who have ability to work independently, ability to work with others, oral and written communication skills, organizational skills, personal interest in the field, self-motivation.


Responsibilities include: sampling, painting, studio work (art and design positions.) Macintosh skills, data entry, follow-up, market research (marketing/managerial positions.)


Selectivity:

Approximate applicant pool: 100; Interns accepted: 20-30 per year.


Compensation:

Unpaid; College credit available


Eligibility:

High school students, college freshmen, college sophomores, college juniors, college seniors, recent college graduates, graduate students, international applicants.

APPLIED ARTS INTERNSHIPS

Internships at the Applied Arts provide an opportunity for students to see working artists enriching and supporting the artist community.  Interns are expected to understand the workings of an art institution by assisting in office management, classes, school events and general studio maintenance.  Task assignments are given by the staff according to the student’s interest, desire to learn and ability level.


Internship: Applied Arts School of Visual Arts


Selectivity:

100 applicants; 10 positions


Compensation: School credit, possible discounted classes.


Eligibility: High School, College and International students or graduates.


Location: Amagansett, NY


Fields: Education TA in Fine Arts; Painting, Drawing, Sculpture, Digital Media and Photography.  Arts Management.  Events Management. Office Assistant. Public Service. Youth Program Assistant. Marketing/Promotion. Other.
