At Applied Arts we understand the need for private instruction in the various art disciplines. We work with our students to develop unique programs that are tailored towards their individual creative needs. PORTFOLIO CLASSES
Portfolio classes are aimed at highly motivated and gifted students who are considering or have decided on pursuing visual arts or design as their choice of specialized study on a college or graduate level. Students will work with professional artists and designers who will advise them on an individual basis, how to develop a portfolio that best reveals their potential as prospective students of art and design. These courses are for students prepared to engage in self-directed study beyond the formal tutorials and seminars offered. Students can choose their area of study from Painting & Drawing, Photography, or Printmaking, although access to all of Applied Art’s facilities and faculty (in Textile Arts, Paper Arts and Sculpture) will be available.
Level 1: M.F.A. Applicants
Aimed at applicants already holding a bachelor’s degree (not necessarily in Art or Design) who are seeking an M.F.A. degree, with a view towards pursuing a career in the visual arts.
Level 2: High School Students
Aimed at applicants in high school who have either already decided or are in the process of deciding to make an application to study art or design at a baccalaureate level.
Level 3: 7th – 9th graders
