YOUNG ADULT DIGITAL
• ART SCHOOL ADMISSION / TCD102
Students will prepare and develop artists’ materials needed for college entry including artist’s statements resume, biography, digital portfolio and website. For best results each student should research in advance what their art school of choice requires for admission. Please call 267-ARTS (2787) to set up in advance the criteria for the class.
YOUNG ADULT DRAWING
• TEEN DRAWING / TDR100
This course is designed to present materials and working strategies to young artists. Problem solving strategies that address scale, composition, mark making, shape and form will be introduced. No experience is necessary.
• TEEN DRAWING WEEK / TDR200
Working for five consecutive days, 3 hours per day, this course is meant to jump-start the teen artist. The daily work routine will increase the momentum of learning through a wide range of drawing strategies. Students will focus on observation of geometry in nature. This class is highly suggested for students who are working on portfolios for college enrollment.
• THE HIGH SCHOOL PORTFOLIO DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM / TCD101
This program is designed to support and strengthen high school students’ drawing and painting portfolios. Students clarify and solidify their drawing and painting skills. Please inquire about the daily class rate and quantity discounts.
YOUNG ADULT PAINTING
• TEEN PAINTING/ TPT100
This is an introductory course focusing on the use of materials. Demonstrations of painting media from house paint to oils are a part of each session. No experience is necessary. However, either the Materials Workshop or Teen Drawing are suggested as pre-requisites for this course.
• TEEN INSTRUCTED STUDIO: MIXED MEDIA (Ages 11-14 +) / TPTi70
Private instruction in a classroom setting for those interested in a variety of media. Students are encouraged to find their artistic style through exercises and experimentation. Group critiques and discussions are integral part of the instruction. Demonstrations will be given in the disciplines of drawing and painting including graphite, charcoal, pastel, oil, acrylic, and watercolor.
• PRETEEN INSTRUCTED STUDIO: MIXED MEDIA (Ages 7-10) / TPTi71

YOUNG ADULT PHOTOGRAPHY
• TEEN & PRETEEN PHOTOGRAPHY / TPH100 (Ages 7-14 +) / TPH100
Classes are designed for young students who wish to explore and ultimately master photography as a creative discipline. They begin with a curricular-based foundation in the essentials of the media .We will cover camera controls, exposure, film processing, printing, enlarging and final presentation. Students are encouraged to develop their own interest and style, and combine this class into a four week mentored portfolio program appropriate for college entrance presentations.
YOUNG ADULT WRITING
• TEEN FICTION WRITING / TWR100
This workshop encourages building confidence in writing to enjoy the thrill of storytelling. Basic grammar will be taught, but the emphasis lies on creating characters, plotting, and style. The classes begin with warm up exercises to get students writing, then brief discussions on student’s favorite books and authors. Classes include a critique workshop, where students will learn the value of examining others work, as well as their own, and the most constructive methods of doing so.
